Details and Bout Sheet for DiBella\’s August 4 Broadway Boxing Show.

ByBoxing Press 01/08/200501/08/2005

August is here, and the first of two summer installments of Broadway Boxing is on the horizon for this week. Undefeated knockout artist Jaidon Codrington (8-0, 8 KO’s) of Queens (by way of Bridgeport, CT) will headline the August 4th edition of Broadway Boxing when he faces Levan Easley (17-11-2), also of Queens, in a 10 round bout for the vacant New York State Super Middleweight Title at the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center. The doors open at 6:00 PM, and the first fight is at 7:00 PM. Tickets are priced at $100, $75, $50, and $35 with special VIP floor tickets also available, call DiBella Entertainment at 212-947-2577 to order.

Codrington will put his 8 for 8 knockout streak on the line in the August showdown with Easley. “The Don” has put forth a professional career thus far that can only be described as dominant. The 21-year-old phenom has become a crowd pleaser at the Manhattan Center evening fisticuffs, and his last fight, another first round KO over Etienne Whitaker on April 28, was no different.

Codrington will be joined on the card by his “Chin Checker” partner Curtis Stevens (7-0, 6 KO’s) of Brooklyn, will square off against Jason Quick (4-0-1, 3 KO’s) in a six round super middleweight contest. Stevens duplicated Codrington’s heroics in the first six fights of his career by reeling off six consecutive KO triumphs. His knockout steak was ended on April 28 when Shannon Miller took him the distance. But the unanimous decision victory lifted Stevens’ unblemished record to 7-0, and he looks to start another KO streak on August 4.

Emmanuel “Sleek” Clottey (22-6, 14 KO’s) has captured four of his last five contests, including a convincing, 10-round unanimous decision over Michael Warrick at Mohegan Sun on October 21, 2004. Clottey returns to the ring after a 10-month hiatus to face Marteze Logan (20-16-2, 5 KO’s). A native of Accra, Ghana, which has produced such stickouts as former world champions Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey, Clottey now fights out of the Bronx. The 31-year-old ring veteran has come into his own since scoring the biggest victory of his career – a 10th round knockout over former Olympic gold medalist Muhamad Abdulaev on June 3, 2003 at Mohegan Sun.

New York City native Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (1-0, 1 KO) scored an awesome first round knockout victory in his pro debut at the Manhattan Center, and returns to the ring at the scene of his professional bow trying to make it two for two as a pro, facing Antwuan Hedgemond of New York City in his pro debut.

in a New York State Cruiserweight title bout, a 10 rounder,
Ehinomen “Hino” Ehikhamenor (11-0, 7 KO’s), fighting out of Queens by way of Nigeria (11-0, 7 KO’s) takes on Punchin” Pat Nwamu (9-1, 3 KO’s) of the Bronx.

James Moore of Arklow, Ireland takes on Gabriel Garcia in a four round middleweight contest, with both fighters making their professional debuts.

In the battle of Brooklyn, tough-minded Brooklynite Sam Elashry (5-3, 1 KO) squares off against Jamal McKay (3-7-2, 1 KO) in a four round cruiserweight bout.

The August 4th edition of Broadway Boxing is promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Damon Dash and is sponsored by HBO Sports Locatestock.com, and Gallagher’s Steak House.

Chris Billam Smith fighting for Zuffa for the first time this Saturday. I think he is being set up to face Jai Opetia later in the contract. Chris got easily beaten by Zurdo in a unification and we all kn […]

  • Where does Usyk go from here? 27/05/2026
For once, I’m totally on board with the WBC. WBC moves to shut down Usyk-Verhoeven rematch talk I personally have NO wish to see a rematch between Rico and Usyk. Call it defensiveness of our sport. Just like I thought Fury’s narrow escape against Ngannou was cringeworthy… I also feel a sense of dread that we came “this close” to having a kickboxer defeat the […]
