The Malta Boxing Commission announced today that Marianne Marston and Clayton Vella are the first to be issued professional boxer licenses by the Republic of Malta professional boxing sanctioning organisation.

On announcing the first boxers licensed by the Malta Boxing Commission President Alexander Zammit said, “It is with pleasure that I am able to announce that the Malta Boxing Commission has today issued it’s first
professional boxing licenses.

This is a historic day for boxing in Malta, one that heralds a new era that will enable Maltese professional boxers to box under their own flag, instead of having to travel overseas to pursue a career as a professional
boxer.

Premier Sports have signed a broadcast deal with Spencer Fearon and Ciaran Baynes’ Hard Knocks Boxing Promotions for six events, starting with their October 7th York Hall Super Show ‘This Is Hard Knocks’ which will be headlined by Mongolia’s two time Featherweight Champion Choi Tseveenpürev.

The dynamic duo’s commitment to featuring genuine 50/50 match-ups throughout their fight cards, which constantly produces leading ‘Fight of the Year’ contenders, is almost certainly the reason that Premier Sports
came banging on the Hard Knocks office door just days after the massively successful, sensationally exciting ‘Summer Smash’ event.

IBO Lightweight Inter-Continental Champion Kevin Mitchell will be making a personal appearance at David and Stephen Smith’s ‘The Boxers Bar’ in Christopher Street, London EC2, from 7pm this Saturday night.

Kevin, who won the coveted title with a scintillating performance over John Murray at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the 16th July, will be joined by various well known boxers from his ‘home’ gym, The Trad TKO
Boxing Gym in Canning Town.

Following his sensational defeat of World #45 ranked Richard Turba last Friday, London based Dutch Cruiserweight prospect Mitchell Balker has rocketed into the top one hundred in the World Cruiserweight rankings, moving up from his previous #220 spot to #86.

Mitchell, who one year ago relocated to London to be managed and co-trained by Johnny Eames at his famed Trad TKO Boxing Gym in Canning Town, controlled the bout virtually from start to finish, saying that he did have to survive a second round visit to the canvas after Turba landed a sharp left uppercut followed by a left hook. London based Dutch Cruiserweight prospect Mitchell Balker is back in action this coming Friday, when he faces tough Blackpool based Slovakian Richard Turba at the Robert Waterman Promotions event at the Tower Circus in Blackpool.
