Saturday night at the York Hall, Bethnal Green in London, Frank Maloney Promotions staged another action-packed night of boxing.

The main event of the night was the scheduled ten round contest for the vacant Southern Area Welterweight title between Scott Woolford of Ramsgate, Kent and Tom Glover of Maldon, Essex.

Scott ʽThe Gentʼ, lost last time out to Matthew Hatton on points and tonight would be a tough contest again.Both men came out looking good, but Glover seemed to have a real confidence about him and scored a number of head shots with both left and right straight punches through Woolford's weak defence.

Woolford gets through with some good left and right hooks but Glover seems to find his target easily and Woolford goes down in the ninth round. More...

Light middleweight Gary "Hot Stuff" Woolcombe realized a career ambition by winning the British title in December of last year but a first defense against former champion Ryan Rhodes in April saw the 26 year old lose his grip on the domestic crown when KO'd in the ninth round. More...

Frank Maloney Promotions returns to London this Saturday night, November 15, when welterweight Scott Woolford leads a charge of young fighters looking to make their mark on the highly competitive British scene.

25 year old Woolford came of age in his recent clash with Matthew Hatton, giving the Manchester veteran all he could handle before losing the bitterly contested eight rounder on points. Facing Woolford, 8-2 (1), this Saturday is iron-chinned Essex mans Tom Glover, 5-5-3 (0), who has been thrown in the deep end with such hot prospects as Gareth Couch, Nadeem Siddique and Tristan Davies during his young career. As well as the main bout between Danny Williams and John McDermott at Dagenham last night, there was also a full bill of undercard contests.

Featherweight Akaash ʽKash the Bashʼ Bhatia, 12-0 (3), of Harrow scored a third round stoppage over Somerset's John Vanemmenis, 1-4-1 (0), in a quick-paced fight.

Delivering a combination of shots which sent his opponent toppling unsteadily off balance, Bhatia notched up his twelfth win keeping his perfect record.

South African bantamweight Tshifhiwa Munyai lost his unbeaten record when he was defeated by Edmonton based Ghanaian southpaw Osumanu Akava, 11-4 (8), at featherweight. More...
