Hungarian Karoly Balzsay and Russian Denis Inkin square off for the WBO interim super middle title on September 27 at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg. It´s an interesting matchup between stablemates with the slick boxing of Balzsay against Inkin´s power.

WBA Super Middle champ Mikkel Kessler´s defence against German challenger Danilo Haussler appears now to be on for October 25 somewhere in Germany.

Danish media have speculated in Kiel or Flensburg, where Kessler resided for a brief spell, as possible sites but according to Sauerland Event´s CEO, it won´t be in either of these towns close to the Danish border. Boxing In Germany: Sturm Stops Pittman In Dusseldorf

Towering Aussie southpaw Jamie "Mr. Business" Pittman came into last night's WBA Middleweight challenge against reigning champion Felix Sturm with an armload of regional title belts and an undefeated record as the pair clashed at Burg-Waechter Castello in Dusseldorf, Germany.

For the first two frames, the 26 year old challenger found a home for his efforts against the perplexed Sturm, who was coming off three difficult title defenses in 2007 and is not used to facing neither a taller opponent nor a southpaw.

But Pittman's good run was short-lived as a clash of heads produced a severe laceration above the New South Wales stylist's right eye and soon Sturm was finding a home for his precise left jab as Pittman was unable to see from the injured eye. More...
