Heavyweight Mark ‘Oaktree’ Brown has been added to the card of the Fight Night Productions event ‘Casino Battle Royale’, which is to be held in Atlantic City, NJ, later this year.

Fight Night Productions CEO, Jarvis Robinson, on making the announcement said “I am so pleased to have Mark on the card. I think it was a forgone conclusion he would be added after the magnificent show he put on at the
Salem fight back in June.

"I just couldn’t leave him out. He’s a true star. He made that event a huge success and will help make the ‘Casino Battle Royale’ an even bigger success.”

‘Oaktree’ will be looking to add to his already excellent 13-1, with six by way of knockout, record after the disappointment of just a few weeks ago when his opponent, Maurice Wheeler, failed to turn up for the weigh-in prior to the ‘Battle on 422’ event. More...

Following his hugely successful inaugural fight night in Salem, New Jersey last month, promoter Jarvis Robinson and his Fight Night Productions team are in the process of organizing an even bigger event ‘Casino Battle Royale’, which will take place in Atlantic City in November, 2008.

Robinson is currently putting together what will be a star studded night and to this end, approaches have already been made to a brace of boxing’s biggest names, including two former world champions to headline the event.

Later this week one of his team, Gianluca ‘Rio’ Di Caro, flies to London, England for discussions with various British and European fighters as the card will have a distinct international feel about it, with around half the bill consisting of fighters from outside the USA, mainly from South America and Europe. Mark ʽOak Treeʼ Brown put on an impressive show for his hometown fans in Salem, New Jersey on Saturday night, culminating in a second round knockout of Ralph ʽWild Wildʼ West of Louisville, Kentucky.

Brown, who weighed in at a lean 223 pounds, was clearly fired up and determined to add to his already excellent 12-1 (5) record. Right from the start he charged at his much larger opponent taking control throwing punch after punch without seeming to have much effect on the 254 pound Kentucky behemoth who just shrugged them off like they were annoying bugs.
