Former Cruiserweight champion and heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek, a Polish fighter out of Jersey City, New Jersey, won a unanimous twelve-round decision to retain the IBF International Heavyweight title over challenger Jason Estrada at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek moves into an eliminator bout against Chris Arreola later in 2010 for a shot at the full IBF heavyweight title.

A partisan crowd of over ten-thousand paying Polish patriots wearing red and waving Polish flags influenced the decision, causing Estrada to cry foul at the post-fight press conference. This reporter scored the bout a 115-115 draw, while another reporter scored it 114-114 draw. Neither fighter impressed much.

Estrada clearly won the first, and later the ninth, tenth, and the twelfth. A tiring Adamek, now 40-1 (27), was breathing heavily from the seventh round on. Estrada gave away the eleventh; later claiming it was just “a change in strategy against Adamek” that Estrada still calls “a smart fighter”. More...

Boxing In America: Adamek, Rios Lead Saturday Night Results

By Richard Eberline February 7th, 2010 All Boxing Results

Tomasz Adamek continued to press his case as a heavyweight last night at the Prudential Centre in Newark, NJ with a victory over former amateur star Jason Estrada.

Former light heavy and cruiserweight world champ Adamek took awhile to get accustomed to the good jab and fast hands of the shorter Estrada but by the second half of the bout the always patient Pole found his rhythm.

Adamek shook off Estrada's shots to deliver crisp combinations that worked in rights to the head and left to the body but Estrada's sturdy chin allowed him to finish the fight competitively.

After 12 frames, Adamek, 40-1 (27), held onto his WBA International heavyweight title by scores of 115-113, 116-112 and 118-110. Estrada drops to 16-3 (4) after a good performance. More...

Kathy Duva, CEO Main Events: “Tomasz has to win against Jason Estrada before he can realize his dream of being the heavyweight champion. It’s a tremendous fight, people are watching it closely. We are delighted to be promoting it.

“A lot of people are asking me why Tomasz took this fight. It is one of those fights where it seems as if we brought in a young guy who pretty much plays to Tomasz’s 'not so strengths'; I don’t want to say weaknesses because I don’t think Tomasz has any of those! Jason’s got strength, he’s got speed, he’s got movement. He’s got a lot of the things that have given Tomasz problems in the past. This fight will give Tomas a good opportunity to deal with all those things. More...

2008 U.S. Olympian Sadam “World Kid” Ali recently completed a strong training camp and now he’s ready to go Saturday night against fellow Brooklyn welterweight Jason Thompson in Newark, New Jersey.

Ali puts his perfect pro record (4-0, 2 KOs) on the line versus Thompson (5-4-1, 4 KOs) in a 4-round bout on Saturday night’s “Heavy Artillery” card, headlined by Tomasz Adamek and Jason Estrada, at the Prudential Center. More...

Boxing Update: Adamek vs. Estrada Heating Up!

By Boxing Press January 25th, 2010 All Press Releases

As he prepares for his February 6 showdown in Newark against former world light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek, 2004 U.S. Olympian Jason “Big Six” Estrada’s nose is out of place and it doesn’t have anything to do with sparring sessions gone wrong.

Estrada (15-2, 3 KOs) feels disrespected by Team Adamek but not, surprisingly, for Adamek looking past him to a reported April 24 fight against Chris Arreola, rather their apparent belief that Adamek (39-1, 27 KOs) has faster hands than Estrada, whose lightning-like hand speed for a 240-pound heavyweight has been his calling card.
