CES Boxing: Manfredo Looking Green Toward Duddy

By Boxing Press April 24th, 2009 All Press Releases

As he heads back to the middleweight division, former world title challenger Peter Manfredo, Jr., rejuvenated by his impressive seventh-round knocked out of Walid “Tempete de Sable” Smichet last Saturday, has his sites set on “Ireland’s” John Duddy.

The 28-year-old Manfredo, 32-6 (16), star of The Contender, Season I, is unable to attend Duddy’s fight tonight in Newark, but he’ll be represented there by his promoter, Jimmy Burchfield, the CES president, and father/trainer, Peter Manfredo, Sr. More...

Boxing In Canada: Demers Wins At The Casino In Montreal

By Danny Wilson March 8th, 2009 All Boxing Results

Former world title challenger Sebastien "Double Trouble" Demers won his second bout in a row as he stopped fellow Quebecois middleweight Martin Berthiaume after five rounds of combat last night at The Casino in Montreal.

Demers, 27-2 (10), won his second bout on the bounce following a shocking split decision loss to Dionisio Miranda last year for the NABA title as Berthiaume, 14-4-2 (8), who has now lost three in a row, decided not to answer the bell for the sixth frame.

Middleweight David Lemeiux, 14-0 (14), continued to crush the opposition as the 20 year old local man belted out Mexico City's Luis Roberto Reyes, 6-7-1 (5), who has now lost his last six contests, in the first round. More...

Boxing In Canada: Demers, Lo Greco Win In Montreal

By Richard Eberline November 30th, 2008 All Boxing Results

Last night at The Casino in Montreal, former IBF Middleweight title challenger Sebastien Demers, 26-2 (9), showed a return to form as "Double Trouble" won every round against American visitor Donny McCrary, 24-9-2 (13), after ten frames of combat.

Demers was coming off a surprise split decision loss to Dionisio Miranda for the NABA belt and this was an important win as the 28 year old local man begins the rebuilding process of his career.

Texas based spoiler Don Mouton, 8-3-1 (7), upset former Canadian Middleweight title challenger Walid Smichet, 19-5-3 (14), by points in a ten rounder and welter prospect Phil Lo Greco, 17-0 (9), kept on track with a eight round unanimous decision over seasoned Mexican journeyman Roberto Valenzuela, 47-44-2 (39).

Boxing In Canada: Molitor, Demers Victorious

By Richard Eberline April 6th, 2008 All Boxing Results

There were two good fight cards in the Great White North last night, with IBF Super Bantam world titlist Steve Molitor leading the way at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario on an Allan Trembly/Orion Sports promotion.

Sarnia, Ontario's favorite son was facing perhaps his toughest challenge to date as a pro in the form of seasoned Mexican Fernando Beltran, Jr, who like Molitor is a quick southpaw and had given the world's top super bantam at the time, Joan Guzman, a difficult challenge three years ago.

From the start, the bout fell into a comfortable pattern for Molitor, who prefers to counterpunch his opponents rather than take the lead, as Beltran surged forward trying to inflict damage. More...
