I don't mean disrespect to the person who posted this video, but in what regard is "Muy Thai one of the most effective martial arts in the world"? Perhaps in the ring, but in "reality" you can poke the eyes, kick the groin, ect. In this regard, many other martial arts can be placed above muy thai as the "most effective" martial art.

Some punk trying to poke the eyes, gets kicked in the face with one of them, he won't be poking many more eyes. Legs are the longest limb, always best to utilise them, but have combat skills for when your closer.

in muy thai its not the kicks so much as the knees you gotta watch out for. The actual art of muy thai focuses on knee and elbow strikes. If its kicking you want you should check out savate. Its a french martial art that focuses on swiveling hips and powerful kicks. the word savate originates from the french word for old boot. It was developed by sailors as a game then became one of the deadliest martial arts out there

mauy thai is known as 8 point striking. fists, elbows, shins, and knees. All are important. The thing that differentiates muay thai from other martial arts is ,yes, the use of knees and elbows in the clinch, but a muay thai practioner weilds some of the most powerful kicks in the martial arts word. Especially considering the use of a well conditioned shin.

A martial art has more to do with its philosophy than its technique. If you are looking for ways to go kicking people in the balls or biting peoples faces, you can train in a soul-less style like krav maga. If you want to learn something about yourself and compete in a disciplined art, muay thai has alot to offer you. In reality, you should just avoid getting into fights. Otherwise follow the redneck mantra and carry a gun so you wont get your pussy hurt.
