In his last bout in the United States, Nugaev brutally knocked out undefeated prospect Anthony Mora in the fifth round on March 3, 2006. The fight was broadcast live on Showtime from Santa Ynez, California ..
Now based in Los Angeles, Nugaev is a frequent training partner of boxing’s Pound For Pound king, Manny Pacquiao.

Said Terry Lane of Let’s Get It On Promotions, “We’re thrilled to bring Rustam to Reno for his first fight here. We feel that he has all the tools to become a world champion. Although his last four bouts have been in Russia, we’re confident that his action packed style of fighting will make him a favorite in Reno and the rest of the United States .”
