Tommy Fury Outboxes Eddie Hall As Misfits Delivers Another Night Of Chaos
If somebody had told you before the first bell that the night would feature an attempted ear bite, a body-shots-only boxing match, a fighter punching his next opponent after winning, a No Contest that ended with security dragging people apart, and Tyson Fury escorting a 40-a-day smoker to the ring, you’d probably have not believed them.
Because this was Misfits Boxing.
The headline attraction saw Tommy Fury outbox Eddie Hall over six rounds, but the undercard somehow managed to produce even more bizarre moments than the main event.
Main Event
Tommy Fury def. Eddie Hall MD (59-56, 58-56, and 57-57)
Eddie Hall’s ring walk summed him up perfectly. No nonsense, no theatrics, just a straight walk to the ring looking locked in and ready for work.
Tommy Fury took a different route. He entered to “Football’s Coming Home” and had the name of his newborn son, Midas, stitched onto his trunks and robe. While Hall stood waiting in the ring looking focused, Fury looked relaxed and seemed to be enjoying every second of the occasion.
The fight played out pretty much as many expected. Fury stayed on his toes through the opening rounds, refusing to stand still long enough for Hall to unload the huge shot he was desperately hunting.
Hall stalked forward throughout the first two rounds, but by the third Fury had started throwing enough punches to make the bigger man think twice about simply marching forward.
Round four saw Fury start putting a bit more power into his work and by the fifth Hall looked like he was running out of gas.
To his credit, Hall found a second wind in the sixth and kept trying, but the difference in boxing ability remained obvious. Fury’s movement, timing and defence were simply too much.
All three judges had Fury by MD with scores of 59-56, 58-56, and 57-57.
Afterwards Fury gave Hall plenty of respect.
“He can fight. He’s fit and he’s fast.”
Hall admitted he struggled to find the target.
“I just couldn’t catch him.”
He also apologised for throwing a backhand during the fight, blaming years of MMA habits, and confirmed he’d happily return for another Misfits event.
Co-Main Event Descends Into Madness
Anthony Taylor vs Matty Floyd – No Contest
The ring walks alone were worth watching.
Matty Floyd entered carrying a lightsaber to a Star Wars soundtrack while Anthony Taylor danced his way to the ring to Super Freak whilst receiving a lap dance.
Somehow that wasn’t the weirdest part.
Taylor spent most of the fight complaining and never looked comfortable. By round four he was resorting to low blows and headbutts before things completely unravelled in the fifth.
Claiming an icy-hot substance had somehow found its way into his eyes, Taylor started punching the canvas and refused to continue.
The referee had little choice but to stop proceedings and rule the contest a No Contest.
The drama didn’t end there.
Taylor then charged towards Floyd’s corner throwing punches, forcing security to rush into the ring and separate everyone.
Floyd’s team were furious afterwards and it’s difficult not to sympathise. The result left a bad taste and there will be plenty arguing Floyd should have been awarded a stoppage victory.
Hatton vs Hamed Tease Gets Huge Reaction
One of the loudest reactions of the night came away from the fights.
Campbell Hatton, son of Ricky Hatton, was introduced as a new Misfits signing before organisers teased a future clash with Sami Hamed, son of Prince Naseem Hamed.
Nothing is official yet, but the possibility alone had plenty of long-time British fight fans smiling.
Armz Stops Big Stacks In The Most Misfits Fight Ever
Armz Korleone def. Big Stacks KTO Round 4
After Jordan McCann’s sucker punch earlier in fight week split Big Stacks’ gum and left him unable to wear a mouthguard, the fight was altered to body shots only.
That immediately raised questions over whether Armz would stick to the agreement.
The result was exactly what you’d imagine when two giant men stand with their hands down throwing body punches at each other.
The crowd booed for large stretches of the contest and a nasty clash of heads in round two only added to the confusion.
Stacks looked completely exhausted by the second round and from that point onwards resembled a heavy bag more than an active fighter.
Eventually the referee stepped in during round four and ended the suffering.
Armz afterwards thanked Stacks, dedicated the victory to his late brother and admitted it had been an unconventional fight.
Then, because apparently the evening wasn’t strange enough already, Armz’ next opponent entered the ring and started verbally unloading on him.
Armz responded in the most subtle way possible by punching him.
Security immediately piled in and another post-fight confrontation was added to the growing collection of madness from the evening.
Ibiza Final Boss Wins The Grudge Match
Ibiza Final Boss def. Jordan McCann MD (38-38, 39-37, 39-37)
This fight had been boiling over all week.
Tyson Fury escorted Jordan McCann to the ring through heavy security, and from the opening bell it was obvious neither man was about to be confused with Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight often resembled a pub car park disagreement after closing time, but somehow remained entertaining throughout.
McCann, a self-confessed 40-a-day smoker, looked exhausted by the end of the third round and appeared desperate for an escape route.
That search seemingly led him towards Ibiza Final Boss’ ear.
In one of the night’s most bizarre moments, McCann appeared to try and bite his opponent as frustrations boiled over.
The fouls continued into round four with pushing, wrestling and headbutts. Somehow the referee managed not to deduct any points despite several obvious offences.
Thankfully things never escalated beyond that and the judges awarded Ibiza Final Boss a majority decision victory.
Afterwards Boss thanked his daughter and supporters.
“The hype of the big occasion zapped it out of me. I was gassed.”
He also declared he’d fight anyone from crossover boxers to rappers and TikTok stars.
McCann responded to the crowd’s boos in typically diplomatic fashion by telling them he’d slept with their girlfriends and collected £50,000 for the fight.
Jade Jones Steamrolls Federikita
Jade Jones def. Federikita TKO Round 2
Two-time Olympic taekwondo gold medallist Jade Jones looked full of confidence before the opening bell.
Federikita danced her way to the ring clearly enjoying the occasion, but the atmosphere quickly turned painful.
A first-round knockdown left her hanging on until the bell and the punishment continued in the second.
Another knockdown forced her corner to throw in the towel, handing Jones another second-round stoppage.
Jones afterwards admitted the heavier gloves had made things a little tougher than expected and thanked the fans for their support.
Then came a major announcement.
Sheena Bathory entered the ring and was revealed as Jones’ next opponent for the Misfits title.
That one looks a far tougher assignment for both women and could be one of the best fights Misfits can currently make.
Swarmz Stops Late Replacement Biel
Swarmz def. Biel TKO
Swarmz had to deal with a late opponent change after Bdave withdrew claiming he had fallen down the stairs.
Biel stepped in and actually showed some decent moments early on.
Unfortunately for him, Swarmz was simply better in every department.
A cut developed around Biel’s right eye and eventually affected his vision enough for the referee to wave the contest off.
Swarmz afterwards credited his new coach for the performance.
He also said he’d still happily fight Bdave in the future but made it clear he’s open to facing anybody.
Adam Brooks Wins Final Fight
Adam Brooks def. Rahim Pardesi UD (40-36 x3)
At 46 years old and claiming this would be his final fight, Adam Brooks arrived with plenty of doubters.
He had predicted a second-round knockout but never found the finish.
What he did find was a comfortable victory.
Brooks swept all three scorecards 40-36 and afterwards showed plenty of class.
He praised Rahim Pardesi, continued promoting his #KnivesDown campaign and even admitted the scorecards may have been a little generous in his favour.
Sheena Bathory Makes A Statement
Sheena Bathory def. Tina Snows KO Round 1
Bathory had promised to make Tina Snows pay for slapping a burger into her face during fight week.
She delivered.
Bathory completely dominated from the opening bell and scored a crushing first-round knockout.
To be honest, it looked like a mismatch from start to finish.
Snows never appeared to belong in the same ring, which raises questions about some of the matchmaking decisions on these crossover cards.
Thankfully she escaped without serious damage.
Luke Nevin Pushes Karim But Comes Up Short
Khallas Karim def. Luke Nevin UD (39-36, 38-36, 38-36)
This was one of the better fights on the card.
Karim looked in control early before hitting the canvas twice in round two, although only one was officially scored as a knockdown.
To his credit, he recovered well.
By the third round Karim had cleared his head and resumed the dominance he’d shown earlier.
He ultimately deserved the decision, but watching him come off the floor leaves questions about how far he can really go against better opposition.
Karim certainly isn’t lacking confidence though and was still talking big afterwards.
Lil Bellsy Outboxes The CrAsian
Lil Bellsy def. The CrAsian UD
After all the pre-fight hostility, Lil Bellsy settled things the old-fashioned way.
She outboxed The CrAsian over four rounds and took the decision on all three scorecards.
There was plenty of drama throughout fight week, but once the bell rang Bellsy was simply the better boxer.
Final Thoughts
Tommy Fury got the win. Eddie Hall earned respect. Anthony Taylor somehow turned a boxing match into a security incident. Jordan McCann nearly bit somebody. Armz punched his next opponent. Campbell Hatton and Sami Hamed might be heading towards a fight.
In other words, it was a perfectly normal night of Misfits Boxing.
