Boxing Info: George Forman III Opponent Wants A Grill

George1 Boxing Info: George Forman III Opponent Wants A GrillIt isn’t always easy to find an opponent when you’re a 6-foot-4-inch, 250-pound son of a living legend.

But, when Southern California promoter Roy Englebrecht tried to find an opponent for the undefeated George Foreman III (2-0, 2 KOs) for his Thursday, Sept. 10 professional boxing event at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland, CA, he was floored by what an opponent demanded before taking the fight.

“When I approached Jesus Hernandez (0-1) about taking the four round heavyweight bout, Hernandez agreed to the purse amount,” Englebrecht said.

“But, then he told me that the only way he would sign the contract would be if I also threw in a new George Foreman Grill and an autographed photo of the former heavyweight champion.

“The Foreman camp agreed, and at the weigh in on Sept. 9, I will happily present Hernandez with a brand new Foreman Grill, and even better, the grill will be autographed by George!”

Also set for the Sept. 10, seven bout event will be a top female Jr. Lightweight match-up between Rhonda Luna and Gloria Ramirez, with the San Manuel Belt going to the winner. Plus, undefeated heavyweights Scott Alexander (3-0) and Lionel Davis (2-0) will compete in four round bouts.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7:30 p.m. PT, are available at the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino or via Ticketmaster.
