Classic Entertainment and Sports presents “A Night To Remember” at Memorial Hall in Plymouth, MA on Friday, September 11, 2009.
The eight round main event features Mike Oliver and Castulo Gonzalez rematching for the New England/EBA junior feather title.
Mike Oliver: “Our last fight was stopped because of a head-butt. He was looking for a way out. I saw the fear in his eyes. He knew he was going to lose. He was happy when the fight was stopped. I saw a smile on his face when the fight was over.
“There’s no possible way Castulo will walk out of the ring with two belts, no matter what army he brings to the fight. I have respect for him but it’s going to be my night. I plan on winning and moving on.”
Castulo Gonzalez: “I wasn’t expecting to fight for two titles [New England and Eastern Boxing Association] but I’m very happy to have it here in Plymouth. I don’t like to talk trash. Oliver talks trash. I come to do my job and I wasn’t smiling when I left the ring [in their last fight]”.
“He did hit me in the second round with a head-butt. In our first fight there were a lot of fouls, too. I like to do my talking in the ring, not on the phone from miles away. You’ll see me, not my opponent, leaving the ring with two belts.”
Isander Beauchamp: “I’m ready for my next fight. I want to thank my promoter [CES] and trainers, the Rivera brothers, for having me on this show.”
Mical Weisberg: “I’ve been training real hard. I’m looking forward to fighting on this card and I plan on winning.”
Arturo Lopes: “I’m dedicating this fight to my grandfather [the late Manny Lopes]. He was a great man. I wish he could be here but I’m going to make him proud. I’m ready to fight. It’s been a few years. I’m ready to do what I have to do.”
