Chet Koerner’s TKO Boxing Promotions has announced that New England based Artie DePinho has joined their team as part of its nationwide “Hometown Heroes To World Champions” acclaimed professional boxing series.
The 23 year old DePinho previously worked at Classic Entertainment and Sports Inc. as the Director of Tickets and Boxer Development. He graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Entertainment and Event Management.
Said DePinho, “I truly developed a passion for professional boxing when I worked on the Peter Manfredo Jr. vs. Scott Pemberton card at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island in February 2006. I was working with the Tournament of Contenders who were promoting the show and with the one day delay due to the massive snowstorm on the day of the event; I truly got to see what was entailed with promoting a major boxing event.
“Within a couple days of the card I was hired by CES where I handled a multitude of duties. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to work for Chet and Chris and their growing TKO Boxing Promotions company.”
Said Koerner, “Artie has an excellent skill set covering many key aspects of boxing promotions. As we continue to expand our promotions in the New England area his experience and vast knowledge will be a key asset to our growth.”
Continued Chris Middendorf, CEO and Director of Boxing Operations for TKO, “As we build our company across the country, there are certain areas that we are focusing on for growth and New England is one of the key areas. As we represent the three top New England fighters, Peter Manfredo Jr., Matt Remillard and Elvin Ayala, from Providence, Hartford and New Haven, respectively, it is a natural fit for us to bring our Hometown Heroes there.”
“We know the importance of working with people from the area to sell tickets, build our relationships with the boxing community and bring in sponsors. To that end hiring Artie was a no brainer. He is a perfect fit for our plans in New England, and he has the opportunity now to work for a company that is the growing rapidly across the country. It is definitely a win-win situation for both parties.”
