On Saturday October 3rd, the 2007 Amateur world champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (7-0, 6KO) returns to the Twin River Event Center, in Lincoln, RI for the second time in a month when he takes on fellow unbeaten Chris Chatman (4-0, 2KO). The bout is scheduled for six rounds in the jr. middleweight division.
The 21-year-old Andrade, who hails from nearby Providence, RI and is promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, last saw action On September 4th at the Twin River, handing previously unbeaten, three-time golden gloves champion, John Williams a vicious beat down, before the referee finally had seen enough and called a halt to the contest at 2:33 of the sixth and final round.
The 25-year-old Chatman, a southpaw like Andrade, is coming off an impressive fourth round TKO victory over previously undefeated Francisco Mora back in August of this year.
This will be Andrade’s sixth opponent as a pro that he has faced that has at least a winning record, with three of the opponents being undefeated.
“This is another test for Demetrius, these are anything but easy fights” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. “Even before he ever stepped into the ring as a pro, Artie (Art Pelullo, President of Banner Promotions) and I knew we had something really special in Demetrius.
“Through his first seven fights he has not disappointed, as he has looked nothing less then spectacular, and he gets better each and every time out. We expect another great performance from him this Saturday and another special treat for all of his hometown fans.”
The Demetrius Andrade – Chris Chatman bout is presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Banner Promotions in association with Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports.
