But those old black and white images sometimes flicker in the minds of us all and raise questions in our hearts about this sport. Thankfully, it was an event not often repeated. The conclusion and aftermath of the fight caused a worldwide uproar that almost forced the end of boxing once and for all. But beyond the immediate ramifications stood the lives of those forever affected by that fateful night: The family Paret left behind and Emile Griffith, the subject of the documentary “Ring of Fire” that airs tonight in an uninterrupted broadcast from 9pm.
