8 Count Boxing: George vs. Naugler Headlines “Windy City Fight Night 7”

Chicago fan favorite Donovan George will battle Jason Naugler of Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the ten round main event on Friday, November 6th at the UIC Pavilion, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions.

The 24 year old George brings an undefeated record of 17-0-1 (15KO’s) into the battle with the 31 year old Naugler sporting a record of 18-10-1 (11KO’s).

Said Pesoli, “Donovan has fought most of his career at home in Chicago but this is his first local bout in over two years and the response we’ve gotten in the last three weeks has been tremendous. He’s brings a high level of excitement to the ring and the Chicago fight fans are very happy to have him back fighting in Chicago .”

“Jason Naugler is a very experienced Canadian fighter who has faced numerous world class fighters including Chad Dawson, Jean Paul Mendy, Jesse Brinkley and Anthony Thompson.

George has fought twice this year, a first round knockout of Mike Walthier on May 1st in Detroit and a fourth round stoppage of Emmanuel Gonzalez on July 31st in Hollywood , Florida.

George is co-promoted by Chicago ’s 8 Count Productions and Seminole Warriors Boxing of Hollywood, California. He is managed by Cestus Management.

The outstanding undercard will feature hard hitting Chicago based junior welterweight Rita Figueroa, 10-1-1 (3KO’s) taking on Kita Watkins, 3-5-0 (1KO), of Camden, Arkansas, in a six round bout.

In a special attraction lightweight bout, Chicagoans Antonio Avila, 1-0-0 (1KO) and Juan Gonzalez, 0-1, will battle in a scheduled four rounder.

A four round super bantamweight bout will see Chicago ’s Sergio Montes De Oca, 3-0-0, battle Sergio Cristobal, 0-1-0, also of the Windy City .

Also returning to the 8 Count Productions’ ring, junior welterweight newcomer Ryan Smedick, 3-0-1 (1KO) will face veteran Jeremy Marts, 5-8-0 (3KO’s) of Ottumwa , Iowa , in a four round bout.

Rounding out the undercard is returning heavy handed lightweight prospect Russell Fiore, 2-0-0 (2KO’s) who will see action in a four round bout against Puerto Rican native Jose Hernandez, 0-1-0.

The George/Naugler bout headlines an outstanding evening of action packed professional boxing. Advance tickets, starting at $31 are available through Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.com the UIC Pavilion Box Office (312-413-5740) and the 8 Count Productions’ Office (312-226-5800).
