Newly Minted Boxing Champ Yuri Foreman Gives Away Turkeys In Brooklyn Today

Yuri Foreman, WBA Super Welterweight Champion, Asaf Shariv, Consul General of Israel in New York and the Met council will be giving away hundreds of turkeys to people in need today in Brooklyn, New York.

The giveaway takes place today, Tuesday, November 24 at 10:30 am at the Met Council Parking Lot, 1170 Pennsylvania Ave, Brooklyn, NYC.

“These turkeys will transform the Thanksgiving holiday for so many individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet,” explained William Rapfogel, CEO and executive director, Met Council.

“We are proud to partner with the Israeli Consulate and Champion Yuri Forman, and grateful for this opportunity to help hundreds of Brooklyn residents in need.”

Asaf Shariv, Israel’s Consul General in New York, said, “Israel has a great friendship with the people of New York. When Yuri said that he wanted to give back to the city, I could think of know better way then to go directly to the community.

“Since Thanksgiving is a time traditionally used to thank those around us, we decided to hand out turkeys to families in need – regardless of religious background,”

“The best way to celebrate is to share with others, I am humbled to give back to the community and share with those that are less fortune,” Yuri Foreman said.
