Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli headlines DAZN PPV card

Christian Mbilli brings an unbeaten record into a fight with Canelo Alvarez, whose experience comes with a very different ledger. That contrast gives the main event its edge on paper: can Mbilli turn his 29-0-1 record into the biggest win of his career, or does Alvarez add another victory to his 63-3-2 mark?

Main Event: Canelo Alvarez Vs Christian Mbilli

Christian Mbilli is 29-0-1, while Canelo Alvarez comes in at 63-3-2. Mbilli has the unbeaten record, but Alvarez has been through far more fights at this level of experience. That makes this a fascinating test for Mbilli and a serious challenge for Alvarez, too.

My eye is on whether Mbilli can make his unbeaten record count against someone with Alvarez’s depth of experience. There’s no need to dress it up: this is a big opportunity for one man and a tough assignment for the other.

Co-Main Event: Jaime Munguia vs Nikita Zon

Jaime Munguia meets unbeaten Nikita Zon in a super middleweight bout. Munguia’s record stands at 46-2-0, while Zon is 12-0-1. It’s a notable step into the ring with a more experienced opponent for Zon, and a chance for Munguia to add another win.

More fights on the card

Rafael Espinoza (28-0-0) faces Ricardo Blandon (21-6-0) at featherweight. Espinoza has yet to lose, while Blandon brings considerably more fights into the matchup.

At featherweight, David Picasso (33-1-1) takes on unbeaten Carl Jammes Martin (28-0-0). Martin’s perfect record gives this one a clear point of interest.

Reito Tsutsumi (5-0-0) meets Raymundo Rojas Garcia (16-2-0) at super featherweight. Tsutsumi is still early in his career, while Garcia has a much longer record of bouts behind him.

At super middleweight, unbeaten Bek Nurmaganbet (16-0-0) faces Marcos Vazquez Rodriguez (21-3-1). It’s another matchup between a fighter yet to lose and an opponent with more professional bouts.

Super middleweights Brayan Leon (12-0-0) and Hector Aguirre (7-0-0) both come in unbeaten. One of those records will take its first loss.

Emiliano Rojo (21-0-0) faces Flavius Biea (24-3-0) at middleweight. Rojo’s unbeaten run meets an opponent with more fights and three defeats on his record.

The card also has a super featherweight bout between Sultan Almohammed (5-0-0) and Erick Jahir Urvina Villegas (5-2-3).

The event is available to view on DAZN PPV. The main event has the obvious pull, but the unbeaten-versus-unbeaten matchups on the undercard give the card a few extra storylines to follow.
