Joshua Buatsi vs Willy Hutchinson 2: Full Card Preview
Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson meet again with the vacant WBC light-heavyweight title at stake. Their first fight gives this rematch an extra edge: both men know what the other can bring, so the adjustments could matter as much as the opening exchanges. Buatsi comes in at 20-1-0, Hutchinson at 20-2-0, and I like that there’s a genuine score to settle as well as a belt on the line.
Main Event: Joshua Buatsi vs Willy Hutchinson
Joshua Buatsi (20-1-0) faces Willy Hutchinson (20-2-0) at light-heavyweight. With the vacant WBC title up for grabs, this is a major opportunity for both British rivals. Buatsi will want to show he can handle Hutchinson’s challenge more effectively this time; Hutchinson gets the chance to prove the first meeting was no fluke. A rematch often rewards the fighter who can make the better mid-fight changes, and that’s the part I’m most interested in.
Co-Main Event: Jack Rafferty vs Hovhannes Martirosyan
Unbeaten Jack Rafferty (27-0-1) meets Hovhannes Martirosyan (20-1-0) at welterweight for the vacant IBO title. Rafferty’s unbeaten record makes him the obvious draw, but Martirosyan arrives with just one defeat on his record and has the chance to spoil the occasion.
Other Title Fight
Zak Miller (17-1-0) and Gully Powar (13-1-1) meet at featherweight for the vacant British title. It’s a meaningful domestic matchup, with both men bringing records that suggest this should be a proper test.
Undercard
Light-heavyweights Bradley Rea (22-2-0) and Ezra Taylor (13-1-0) have a useful domestic clash on the bill. Rea has the busier record, while Taylor will be looking to make his mark against a more experienced opponent.
Middleweights Stephen Clarke (10-0-0) and Harley Collison (3-9-2) meet, with unbeaten Clarke putting his record on the line.
At super-welterweight, John Joe Carrigan (4-0-0) faces Cheikh Diop (6-1-0). Diop has the more experienced record; Carrigan is still unbeaten.
Super-middleweights Javokhir Ummataliev (2-0-0) and Atacayte Santana (4-3-2) are also on the card.
Unbeaten light-heavyweight Billy Deniz (16-0-0) takes on Joe O’Sullivan (5-4-0).
Tumi Phillips (6-1-0) meets Angelo Dragone (10-16-1) at super-lightweight.
Light-heavyweight Ryan Macmillan (6-0-0) faces Grant Dennis (21-25-0).
The card opens with super-middleweights Alex Arthur Jr (5-0-0) and Jose Aguirre (2-31-0).
Closing
Buatsi and Hutchinson have the belt and the history, while Rafferty and Martirosyan bring another title fight beneath them. With a full undercard around those matchups, there’s plenty to keep an eye on. The event is under the British Boxing Board of Control and will be available on DAZN.
