Star Boxing Returns To Atlantic City On Super Bowl Eve

On February 6th, on the eve of Super Bowl XLIV, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing returns to Atlantic City for the first time in the 2010, to present an exciting action packed card from the Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Headlining the show will be Atlantic City’s own welterweight contender, Shamone “The Truth” Alvarez (20-2, 11KO) taking on knockout artist Alexis Camacho (17-2, 16KO) in an exciting ten round welterweight showdown.

In the co- feature bout of the evening, heavyweight fan favorite, Vinny Maddalone (32-6, 23KO), coming off a hard fought decision loss to former two-time cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck, returns to action to take on Dominique “Diamond” Alexander (19-7-1, 9KO). The bout is scheduled for eight rounds.

“We are very excited to be returning to Atlantic City, especially since we are going to be at the Tropicana, something we haven’t done in a few years” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing.

“We are looking to have a very big year promoting fights in Atlantic City, and feel that this card on the 6th, featuring a thrilling welterweight showdown in the main event, as well as having the always exciting Vinny Maddalone in the co-feature, will really set the tone for what we want to accomplish in 2010.

“With Superbowl XLIV taking place the following day we know that there is going to be a very exciting atmosphere in Atlantic Cityand we are looking forward to adding to that with a dynamic night of boxing.”

“We have been in talks with Mr. DeGuardia for sometime now in attempts to bring one of his Star Boxing promoted cards to our showroom here at the Tropicana,” stated Tropicana COO Mark Giannantonio.

“Star Boxing has a great reputation for putting on exciting and entertaining events here in Atlantic City and we are truly looking forward to staging their first (Atlantic City) event of the near year, before a packed house on the Eve of Super Bowl Sunday, right here at Atlantic City’s premier Casino and Resort.”
