Sensational junior lightweight prospect Arash Usmanee will make his debut in the United States on Friday, January 29th at the Mohegan Sun Casino, it was jointly announced today by Hennessy Sports and TKO Boxing Promotions.
Fighting out of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Usmanee, 4-0 (2KO’s) won his first four professional bouts in 2009, after an outstanding amateur career which saw him compile a record of 130-20 on his way to becoming a five time Canadian National Amateur Champion.
At the Mohegan Sun Casino, Usmanee will battle in his first six round bout against Cuban veteran Jorge Ruiz, 7-10-1.
In his last outing, Usmanee won a four round unanimous decision over Wilshaun Boxley on December 5th at the Casino Montreal in Montreal, Canada.
Using constant pressure from the opening bell, Usmanee was able to score at will with devastating combinations to the head and body in the first two rounds. Continuing the assault in the third, Usmanee visibly started to wear down Boxley using his jab and outworking his opponent with a cut over Boxley’s left eye bleeding badly.
In the fourth round during which Usmanee and Boxley traded bombs throughout, both fighters battled strongly to the final bell much to the appreciation of the Montreal boxing crowd.
Headlining the world class evening of professional boxing at the Mohegan Sun Casino on January 29th is Peter Manfredo Jr. who will face off against Matt Vanda in the ten round main event for the NABF Middleweight Title.
The co-feature on January 29th is a featherweight showdown between Hartford’s Matt Remillard and Dominican Rafael Lora in a ten round battle for the NABF Title
