Colombian fighter Edison Miranda is now in Montreal and ready to fight IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute on April 17th on HBO World Championship boxing.
On Thursday, Bute and Miranda will hold their public workout at the InterBox gym, as the anticipation for this bout grows with each passing day.
Coach Ricardo Funez, Miranda and Miranda’s trainer Joe Goosen recently met the Montreal media, expressing confidence that they can end the reign of local favorite Bute, 25-0 (20), who has retained his IBF super middleweight title on four previous occasions.
Miranda, 33-4 (29), unsuccessfully challenged for the IBF middleweight title in 2006 and has only come up short against Kelly Pavlik, Andre Ward and Arthur Abraham during the course of his nine year pro career.
