Martin Concepcion or Kevin Hammond could be in line for a shock crack at British light-middleweight champion Sam Webb.
The pair box a return on Frank Maloney’s big bill at Coventry Skydome on Friday April 23 with Concepcion’s Midlands area title on the line.
When they clashed in February Leicester’s Concepcion (16-7) took a controversial 97-96 points decision after a brutal ten rounder.
Lincoln’s Hammond (8-2) has vowed to get revenge and Webb will be a ringside spectator for one of British boxing’s biggest nights of 2010.
Promote Frank Maloney said: “Their first fight was torrid and if next week’s ten rounder is another war then the winner deserves something. I will make an immediate request to the British Boxing Board of Control for the winner to get a crack at Sam late this summer.
“Sam will be at ringside to see them go at each other again and is willing to face the winner in a voluntary defence.”
Ringside opinion was divided after the first fight and Maloney says it was impossible to split them.
Top of Maloney’s blockbuster bill is Rendall Munroe’s WBC world super-bantamweight title final eliminator against Mexican star Victor Terrazas.
The winner is guaranteed a crack at Japan’s formidable world title holder Toshiaki Nishioka later this year.
Also on the talent crammed bill is unbeaten Olympic bronze medallist Tony Jeffries who faces iron chinned Welshman Nathan King.
