Boxing Result: Williams Defeats Cintron By Technical Decision

After a prolonged and heavily hyped media build-up, light middleweights Paul Williams and Kermit Cintron fought an uneventful three rounds at Home Depot Center in Carson, CA last night.

The pair went about the fight cautiously from the outside without much taking place until the forth round when Cintron fell through the ropes after getting tangled up with Williams.

After landing upon the ringside tables, Cintron was declared unable to continue the bout and Williams was awarded the technical decision.

Williams improves to 39-1 (27), while Cintron falls to 32-3-1 (28).

The vacant USBA super feather belt was awarded to unheralded New Yorker Argenis Mendez, 16-1 (9), who won a 114-114, 116-112 and 116-112 majority decision against the far more experienced Martin Honorio, 28-5-1 (14), in the chief support bout.

Welterweight Mike Dallas, Jr, 14-0-1 (5), stopped Daniel Gonzalez, 9-28-2 (3), who has now lost 13 consecutive bouts, in the second.
