WBO Junior Heavyweight challenger Matt “Too Smooth” Godfrey held a media workout today at Big Six Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.
The local man put on a dazzling display of skill that left no doubt as to his intention to upset WBO champion Marco Huck later this month.
The pair clash on Saturday, August 21 at Messehalle in Erfurt, Germany in what will be Godfrey’s long awaited debut on the world stage.
Huck, 29-1 (22), has won 10 straight contests since losing an IBF title bout to Steve Cunningham in 2008 and will put his WBO crown at risk for the fourth time.
Godfrey, 20-1 (10), has won his last four appearances since dropping a 2008 WBC title eliminator to Rudolf Kraj, picking up the NABF and Sovereign Nations belts in the process.
