Integrated Boxing: Morales vs. Limond PPV September 11

ByBoxing Press 8/17/2010

Integrated Sports Media, North America’s undisputed Pay-Per-View distribution leader of major boxing events, will showcase Mexican great Erik “Terrible” Morales to American boxing fans once again September 11, headlining the “Mexican Fiesta” pay-per-view event live from Mexico City.

“We’re excited to bring U.S. boxing fans the second comeback fight for living legend Erik Morales, who is the last man to defeat Manny Pacquaio,” Integrated Sports Media president Doug Jacobs said.

“It’s a privilege for Integrated Sports Media to air this living legend’s continued comeback. The rest of the card is loaded with interesting fights that insure an entertaining night of boxing.”

Three-division world champion Morales (49-6, 34 KOs), who returned this past March 27, after 2 ½ years of inactivity, defeating former WBA lightweight titlist Jose “Jicaras” Alfaro (23-6, 20 KOs) by a 12-round decision for the WBC Intercontinental welterweight crown, is on a mission to become the first Mexican to capture world titles in four different weight classes.

Morales goes for his 50th career win in the 12-round main event on “Mexican Fiesta” against WBU lightweight champion Willie “Hands of Steel” Limond (33-2, 8 KOs), of Scotland, for the vacant WBC Diamond Super Lightweight Championship.

One of the most revered Mexican fighters of all-time, Morales’ list of victims over the years reads like a Who’s Who list of boxing stars: Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barrera, Pauli Ayala, Wayne McCullough, Junior Jones, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Guty Espada, Jr. (twice), Daniel Zaragoza and Kevin Kelly.

Former WBC Light Flyweight Champion Edgar Sosa (39-6, 23 KOs) takes on European flyweight titlist Andrea Sarritzu (34-4-4, 12 KOs), of Italy, in the 12-round co-feature for the WBC International Flyweight Championship.

In a female super flyweight battle of champions, WBC titlist Ann Marie “La Guerrera” Torres (21-3-2, 13 KOs), of Mexico, takes on WIBF and GBU champion Alesia “The Tigress” Graf (25-1, 9 KOs), of Germany, in a 10-round title bout fpr the WBC World Cup Super Flyweight Championship.

Unbeaten Juan Carlos “Miniburgos” Burgos (24-0, 16 KOs), WBC CABOFE Featherweight Champion, goes against Filipino upset specialist Joan de Guai in a 12-round match for the WBC Youth Featherweight Championship.

A pair of 25-year-olds from Mexico City, WBC CABOFE lightweight champ Daniel “Tremendo” Estrada (23-1-1, 19 KOs) and WBC Continental Americas title-holder Rey Sanchez, square-off in a 12-round match for the WBC Silver Lightweight Championship.

WBC Youth Lightweight champion Ramon “Nino de Oro” Ayala (18-1-1, 8 KOs), a 21-year-old Mexico protégé of another Mexican fighting icon, Marco Antonio Barrera, defends his crown against Panamanian gatekeeper Armando “El Policia” Cordova, former NABA super featherweight champion, in a 10-rounder.

“Mexican Fiesta,” presented by Grupo Empresarial Matiz, is being distributed in the United States by Integrated Sports Media for live viewing at 9 PM/ET – 6 PM/PT on both cable and satellite pay-per-view for a suggested retail price of only $29.95.

  • Callum Smith injured 4/7/2026
Callum Smith has pulled out of the David Morrell fight which was due to take place in his hometown Liverpool on 18rh April. I was looking forward to this fight. Callum has a rib injury during training camp. This is a big blow for him as he has not fought since he had that epic victory over Joshua Buatsi. Ben Whittaker will be headlining the event now. talksp […]
  • Errol Spence v Tim Tszyu - June 2026 4/7/2026
The clash between Spence and Tszyu had reportedly been lined up to take place in June. Tim did suffer a cut in his bout against Nurja, which could potentially delay proceedings. I am concerned that Spence has not fought for years now and having no warm up. This may show that he has not much left and cashing in. Tszyu secured a one-sided unanimous decision wi […]

  • Devin Haney vs Rolly Romero collapses 4/3/2026
Negotiations for a WBO and WBA welterweight unification clash between Devin Haney and Rolly Romero have reportedly collapsed. Organisers had planned for the fight to headline a PBC event on May 30, live on Amazon Prime PPV. Haney has turned down the fight. The reason for Haney pulling the plug is that he wasn’t offered a guaranteed purse. PBC instead propose […]
  • Rene Santiago to defend his WBA and WBO junior flyweight belts in Japan 4/2/2026
Rene’s not talked about much. Even here in Puerto Rico he’s not as well known as Xander Zayas or even Oscar Collazo. But he’s got 2 of the 4 belts in the division, and tonight he defends them against Masataka Taniguchi in Japan. Gotta hand it to him. This is his 3rd straight fight in Japan. I admire any fighter who’s willing to go halfway around the world to […]
