IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko put on another masterclass last night, halting old rival Samuel Peter in ten rounds at Commerz Bank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.
Peter was looking to improve upon his 2005 loss to Klitschko in which the Ukrainian was canvassed three times but managed to win a points verdict.
This time the only part of Klitschko that contacted the floor was his feet as he boxed clever, using his height, reach, skill and strength advantages to pepper his opponent behind the jab.
The challenger looked to box more than in their first encounter but whatever manner in which Peter went about facing the champion, he just abosrbed punishment.
By the middle rounds, Klitschko was landing at will and a few frames later was using everything in his considerable arsenal without taking very much leather in return.
The tenth saw a vicous beating handed out by Klitschko as a defeated Peter was stopped at 1:22 of the frame.
Klitschko goes to 55-3 (49) and is clearly, along with brother Vitali, at the top of the heavyweight division. Peter falls to 34-4 (27).
