Maloney Highlights Official Problem.

British fight manager Frank Maloney is causing a stir ahead of his fighter, Scott Harrison’s WBO world title fight with Manchester fighter Michael Brodie. Maloney is fuming about the fact that his man Harrison, from Cambuslang in Scotland, has to defend his championship with an all-English judging panel officiating the contest. Maloney has been known to bring such problems to light, such as his pre-fight removal of Paul Ingle from a boxing ring as Naseem Hamed’s ring entrance took too long. Whether the British Boxing Board of Control will do anything to mollify Maloney’s complaint remain to be seen, but it is a valid complaint. Seperate from this instance, The Kostya Tszyu-Ricky Hatton fight will be officiated by English star class referee Dave Parris. Without questioning Parris’ integrity or ability in the ring, it could be said that a referee that officiates the highest profile, world championship fights week in week out would be more appropriate for such a lofty assignment.

We will keep you updated as to any developments in regard to Maloney’s argument, and of course, all of the results and coverage from the coming weekend’s fights in Manchester will be brought to you by SaddoBoxing.com.
