Michael Acri Boxing Promotions, in association with Budweiser, present the 26th Annual Erie Boxing Classic, Wednesday November 24, beginning at 8 p.m., at the Avalon Hotel.
Headlining the card is Pittsburgh’s Rod Salka (12-0, 3 KOs) vs. Guillermo Sanchez (11-2, 5 KOs), of Buffalo, NY, in an eight-round lightweight battle.
Sanchez is a two-time Erie Boxing Classic (EBC) alumnus. He made his EBC debut in 2007, scoring a first-round TKO against Markel Muhammad. Sanchez returned to the EBC in 2008 where he blasted out Rasool Shakor via a second-round knockout.
Salka’s last fight was on June 30 at Heinz Field, an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Ikem Orji.
The co-feature will pit unbeaten junior welterweights Campbell, Ohio’s Jake Giuriceo (8-0-1, 2 KOs), of Campbell, OH, against Johnny Garcia (4-0, 2 KOs) from Holland Mich., in a six round bout.
The card will also feature Erie heavyweight Rocky Mullooly (3-2) and junior welterweight Ivan Hernandez (0-1) of Dunkirk, NY, in a four-round battles. Additional bouts will be announced.
