Former World Boxing Council super flyweight champion Gerry “Geronimo” Penalosa (48-5-2, 33 KOs) headlines “Friday Night Fights,” promoted by Knockout Boxing in association with the Rivera Brothers, Friday evening (June 10) at the National Guard Armory in Lynn, Massachusetts. Penalosa, reigning WBF super flyweight champion, fights out of his native Philippines. He has been inactive since capturing the WBF title last November by registering a seventh-round TKO of Bangsaen Sithpraprom. The slick southpaw squares off against Felix Murillo (15-3), who replaced Colombian veteran Reynaldo Hurtado Arendo.
2003 Pan-Am Games silver medalist Castulo “El Poderoso” Gonzalez (4-0, 1
KO), fighting out of Wilmington (MA) via Guatamala, in his first six-round
match faces New York City featherweight John Seme in the co-feature.
