Light Heavyweight Champion Nathan Cleverly conducted the draw for Prizefighter Light Heavyweights II, which will be unveiled tonight (Thursday) on Ringside on Sky Sports HD2 at 8pm.
Eight of the most exciting Light-Heavyweights in the UK will enter the 16th edition of Matchroom Sport’s eight-man, one-night tournament on January 29th at Olympia, which will be shown live on Sky Sports and broadcast in 3D for the first time.
The draw for the quarter-finals of Prizefighter Light Heavyweights II has been made by Welsh boxer Cleverly, and will be screened on Thursday night’s Ringside programme.
Ahead of the draw, former British Champion Tony Dodson, one of the early favourites for the £32,000 winner’s cheque, said he is not concerned about who he draws in the eight-man, one-night event, or how the draw comes out.
“I really don't care who I face - I'm ready for anyone,” said Dodson. “Every fight will be an all-out war and I'm ready to go to battle.
“I feel so strong at light-heavyweight and being bang on the weight two weeks before a fight is something I haven't experienced for a long time.”
Dodson will line up alongside unbeaten prospects Menay Edwards, Llewellyn Davies, Travis Dickinson and Billy Slate, with Southern Area champion Michael Banbula, former English Captain Joe Smyth and popular Margate banger Jack '13' Morris completing the line up.
