8 Count Boxing Signs Three Chicago Prospects

ByBoxing Press 2/21/2011

Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions announced the signing today of three sensational young undefeated prospects to exclusive promotional contracts.

Joining the 8 Count Productions roster are Chicagoans’ Adrian Granados, Achour Esho and Ramiro Carrillo.

“It’s a great day for 8 Count Productions and these terrific young warriors and just as important for the fight fans of Chicago. All three are very popular, exciting prospects and we plan to keep them very busy on our ‘Windy City Fight Night’ series at our home, the UIC Pavilion” said Pesoli.

The 21 year old Granados, 5-0-0 with three knockouts, is coming over a sensational second round stoppage of Justin Danforth in their scheduled six round junior welterweight bout on December 17th at the UIC Pavilion.

Welterweight Esho thrilled the huge crowd at the UIC Pavilion on January 28th with a jaw dropping fifth round knockout of Corey Rodriguez to improve his record to 10-0-0 with seven stoppages.

Only 20 years old, junior welterweight Carrillo improved to 4-0-0 with two knockouts with a shutout four round decision over Clifford McPherson on the January 28th event.

Continued Pesoli, “Granados and Carrillo fought numerous times as amateurs and they’ll both be fighting on our upcoming card on April 1st.

“They both want to fight each other and ideally we’ll try to make that fight this year. Talking to each there seems to be some unfinished business that only a fight in the professional ranks can solve.”

‘Esho is a little further along in his career with more fights than the other two. He also had what you could call the “Arturo Gatti” moment in his career on our last show.

“He was knocked down hard in the fourth round by Rodriguez and was bleeding pretty badly, but came back to earn the knockout in the next round. The huge crowd at the UIC Pavilion was thrilled by his performance.”

“We’re very proud to welcome each of these warriors to the 8 Count Productions team” said Pesoli.

Other fighters under the 8 Count Productions banner include super middleweight contender Donovan George, light heavyweight prospect Andrzej Fonfara, undefeated junior welterweight prospect Ivan Popoca, welterweight prospect Jaime Herrera and junior middleweight Luciano Perez.

Details of the next 8 Count Productions even set for Friday, April 1st at the UIC Pavilion will be announced shortly.

  • Callum Smith injured 4/7/2026
Callum Smith has pulled out of the David Morrell fight which was due to take place in his hometown Liverpool on 18rh April. I was looking forward to this fight. Callum has a rib injury during training camp. This is a big blow for him as he has not fought since he had that epic victory over Joshua Buatsi. Ben Whittaker will be headlining the event now. talksp […]
  • Errol Spence v Tim Tszyu - June 2026 4/7/2026
The clash between Spence and Tszyu had reportedly been lined up to take place in June. Tim did suffer a cut in his bout against Nurja, which could potentially delay proceedings. I am concerned that Spence has not fought for years now and having no warm up. This may show that he has not much left and cashing in. Tszyu secured a one-sided unanimous decision wi […]

  • Devin Haney vs Rolly Romero collapses 4/3/2026
Negotiations for a WBO and WBA welterweight unification clash between Devin Haney and Rolly Romero have reportedly collapsed. Organisers had planned for the fight to headline a PBC event on May 30, live on Amazon Prime PPV. Haney has turned down the fight. The reason for Haney pulling the plug is that he wasn’t offered a guaranteed purse. PBC instead propose […]
  • Rene Santiago to defend his WBA and WBO junior flyweight belts in Japan 4/2/2026
Rene’s not talked about much. Even here in Puerto Rico he’s not as well known as Xander Zayas or even Oscar Collazo. But he’s got 2 of the 4 belts in the division, and tonight he defends them against Masataka Taniguchi in Japan. Gotta hand it to him. This is his 3rd straight fight in Japan. I admire any fighter who’s willing to go halfway around the world to […]

  • Bromance between AJ and Usyk 3/31/2026
What is happening between AJ and Usyk? They were seen holding hands as Usyk was showing AJ graves of Ukrainian soldiers. Is this just mind games to help AJ gain confidence to […]
