8 Count Boxing: Linenfelser Brothers Make Pro Debut April 1

Highly regarded prospects Joe and Anthony Linenfelser will make their Chicago debut on Friday, April 1st as part of the stacked undercard at “Windy City Fight Night 16” at the UIC Pavilion, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.

Based out of Rockford, Illinois, both brothers will be featured under the super middleweight headlining showdown between Chicago ’s Donovan George and Maxell Taylor.

Just seventeen years old when he turned professional in 2005, Joe, 8-1-1 (6KO’s) will battle former amateur arch nemesis Jeremy Martz, 6-10-0 (4KO’s) of Ottumwa, Iowa in a six round super middleweight bout.

The elder Linenfelser is looking to get back in the win column after suffering the first loss of his career on January 15th, a hard fought eight round decision to veteran Mustafah Johnson in Warren, Michigan. Amongst his wins is a fifth round stoppage over world ranked contender Fernando Hernandez in 2008.

Just nineteen years old, younger brother Anthony brings a record of 2-2-0 with both wins coming by way of knockout. He is coming off a first round stoppage of Mike Arnold on October 29th in Warren, Michigan.

Anthony will face off against Hammond, Indiana based newcomer Jeremias Correa in a four round junior lightweight tilt. The 22 year old Correa won his pro debut on October 2nd in his hometown with a third round knockout of Harvey Phillips.

Also featured are all-action attraction Adrian Granados, 5-0-0 (3KO’s) of Chicago along with undefeated Chicago prospects; junior welterweight Genaro Mendez, 3-0-1 (2KO’s) and middleweight Ramon Valenzuela, 3-0-0 (1KO).

Just added to the card is a four round welterweight battle between Chicago pro debuter Luis Santiago and Milwaukee ’s Matt Ellis, 1-3-0 (1KO).

Tickets, priced at $100, $75, $50 and $30 are now on sale through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com, the UIC Pavilion Boxing Office (312-413-5740) and the 8 Count Productions’ Office (312-226-5800).

Doors on the evening of the event will open at 7pm with the first bell at 8pm. The UIC Pavilion is located at 525 S. Racine, just one block south of the Eisenhower Expressway.
