Vasquez vs. Dailey Headline June 3 At Harrahs’ Chester

ByBoxing Press 18/05/2011

On Friday night June 3rd at Harrah’s in Chester, Pa, it will be an All Philly Battle as popular Victor Vasquez battles Gustavo Dailey in a six round Lightweight bout that is a rematch of a bout that took place on January 15th, 2010.

The card, dubbed “Round 3” is promoted by Joey Eye Boxing and David Feldman.

In their first bout, Vasquez scored a fifth round stoppage over Dailey, so on June 3rd, the question that will be asked, will it be repeat or revenge.

Vasquez of Philadelphia has built up one of the biggest fan bases in Philadelphia due to his exciting style which always has him in the fight of the night whenever he steps into the ring. Vasquez has a record of 12-5-1 with six knockouts and has been in some memorable fights in his young career.

In his last bout, Vasquez waged a terrific back and forth war with Osnel Charles before dropping a six round majority decision as part as “Round 1” at Harrah’s in Chester.

He holds victories over undefeated Thomas McCuiston (1-0); Tyric Robinson (9-4-1) as well as an exciting six round split decision over Bryne Green (5-3) on October 8th in Philadelphia.

Dailey of Philadelphia has a record of 4-11 with one knockout. Despite the pedestrian record, Dailey has fought and beat some top competition.

Dailey’s crowning moment to date was a six round split decision over Tyrell Samuel (12-2). Samuel took the rematch and a third fight by decisions.

Dailey has been in the ring with Eddie Hyland (10-1); Brandon Bennett (3-0); two fights with Anthony Flores;. Dailey is coming off a fourth round stoppage defeat to Tyrone Luckey (2-0) on February 26th in Atlantic City.

Ferrante of Northeast Philadelphia won his first nine bouts which included wins over Anthony Pietrantonio (6-1) and he won the WBF United States title with a eight round majority decision over Billy Bailey.

Ferrante lost that title when he dropped a ten round unanimous decision to Chuck Mussachio (15-1-2). Ferrante will be looking to get back in the win column after he was stopped in three rounds to undefeated Ronson Frank (15-0) on January 28th

Park of Florence, South Carolina has a respectable record of 8-5 with six knockouts and will be a good test for Ferrante as he has fought some top prospects.

Park won his first four bouts via stoppage before dropping an eight round unanimous decision to undefeated Shane Benefield (11-0). After three more wins, Park lost to former world title challenger LaJuan Simon (13-0-2).

Park has also fought Marcus Upshaw (3-0) and his last bout came against undefeated knockout artist Jason Escalera (5-0) where Park was stopped in three rounds back on June 25th, 2009.

In a four round Lightweight bout, undefeated Lightweight Angel Ocasio will see action against Randolph Scott.

Ocasio of Philadelphia, has a record of 4-0 with one knockout is coming off an impressive four round unanimous decision over George Santiago as part of “Round 2” that took place on March 18th at Harrah’s in Chester.

Scott of Sailsbury, Maryland has a record of 0-3 and is coming off a six round unanimous decision to Jamie Palma (13-13-1) on May 9, 2009.

Fresh off his pro debut knockout win as part of “Round 2”, Fred Jenkins Jr. will see action in a four round Super Middleweight bout.

Undefeated Middleweight Rashad Brown of Philadelphia (3-0, 1 KO) will take part in a four round bout against Phillip Burnette (2-2, 1 KO) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Joey Tiberi of Newark, Newark, Delaware (3-1, 1 KO) will look to make it two straights wins when fights in a four round Super Featherweight bout against Jonathan Ocasio (0-7) of Philadelphia.

Rounding out the card will be the pro debut of Tyrone Crawley Jr. of Philadelphia in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout. Crawley is the son of former Lightweight world championship challenger Tyrone “Butterfly” Crawley

  • Where does Usyk go from here? 27/05/2026
For once, I’m totally on board with the WBC. WBC moves to shut down Usyk-Verhoeven rematch talk I personally have NO wish to see a rematch between Rico and Usyk. Call it defensiveness of our sport. Just like I thought Fury’s narrow escape against Ngannou was cringeworthy… I also feel a sense of dread that we came “this close” to having a kickboxer defeat the […]

  • Why was Usyk so bad? 27/05/2026
What was the major factor for Usyk to perform so poorly against Rico? Rico better than expected, skilled kick boxer, huge size, awkward style, surprise element? Age of Usyk finally showing up? Jai Opetaia Says Boxing Rewards Talk More Than Skill This has long been a thought of mine, but of course it’s always refreshing when an actual boxer says it. It could be speculated that at some point Jai could follow t […]
