Askin Hunting British Champion Norton After Blackpool Clash

Matty Askin believes he is ready to face British cruiserweight champion – Robert Norton.

Askin boxes an eight rounder in his hometown at Blackpool Tower on Friday 19th August against a selected opponent, and hopes victory will lead towards a Norton challenge.

Askin, 22, has won all ten professional wins and said: “I seriously think that I can challenge Robert Norton in the next 9-12 months and that I will beat him.

“I have changed gyms and to be honest feel so good that I believe I could beat him now if we met, but first I have a serious test in Blackpool.

“The more fights I get and extra rounds under my belt the better. I have only had ten fights and Norton is a seasoned pro, but I have the tools to beat him.”

In the bill-topper Matthew Hatton faces unbeaten Belarussian Andre Abramenka for the the vacant IBF intercontinental title.

Other prospects on the bill include welterweight hopeful Adam Little.

The show promoted by Robert Waterman will be televised live by Eurosport and ticket are available prices £35, £55 and £75 VIP from 01925 755222 and www.ticketline.co.uk
