Australian middleweight star Sam “The King” Soliman entered the ring tonight at the Palace Indian Gaming Center in California in search of an impressive performance. Soliman was in Las Vegas to see the man he was chasing for so long, Bernard Hopkins, lose the undisputed middleweight championships. Fernando Zuniga could not stop Sam Soliman from keeping his streaking run of wins going, but perhaps the dream will finally come true for Soliman in 2006. Zuniga fell by way of a ten round decision. With a rock solid rematch clause, Hopkins intends to regain his championships from Taylor by the end of this year, but this is of little consequence to Soliman who simply wants a chance at the championship.
On the under-card, former cruiserweight champions Vassiliy Jirov and Orlin Norris battled to a ten round majority draw.
