Hatton Promotions Ready For Massive 2012

ByBoxing Press 04/01/2012

Hatton Promotions proved themselves among the world’s top promotional boxing organisations in 2011, and are expecting even bigger success this year from their growing stable of boxers.

Hatton Promotions proud champions are Gary Buckland (British super-featherweight champion), Anthony Crolla (British lightweight), Craig Lyon (English bantamweight), Rendall Munroe (WBA international super-bantamweight), Joe Murray (IBF youth featherweight), Martin Murray (British and Commonwealth middleweight), Scott Quigg (British and WBA intercontinental super-bantamweight), Sergey Rabchenko (WBA intercontinental light-middleweight), Ashley Theophane (British light-welterweight champion) and Denton Vassell (Commonwealth welterweight).

But that is just part of the 2011 story as Matthew Hatton and Ryan Rhodes challenged Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for the WBC light-middleweight crown, and Martin Murray faced WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm.

All three did British boxing proud, and Murray was on the wrong end of a hotly disputed decision in Germany earlier last month. Hatton Promotions are working to earn him a return.

Matthew could face Kell Brook and Ryan has been nominated to meet Hatton Promotions stable-mate Rabchenko for the vacant European crown.

Hatton Promotions President Ricky Hatton said: “2011 was a great year for Hatton Promotions, boasting five British champions domestically. At European level we were awarded the crown of ‘European Promoter of the Year’, and on the world stage we secured world title shots for Ryan, Matthew and Martin. This is a fabulous achievement which has been reached in just three short years.
With respect to our domestic promotional rivals, to have achieved these goals (bearing in mind we have been in existence for a fraction of the time) shows British boxing can expect big things from us in 2012.”
Hatton Promotions are looking to have their first world champion this year.

There are real hopes that Crolla, Hatton, Munroe (now boxing at bantamweight), Martin Murray, Rabchenko, Quigg or Theophane can mix with the elite over the next 12 months.

Hatton Promotions reputation for building fighters is growing with the unbeaten hopefuls in the camp : Matty Askin, Tom Doran, Adam Etches, Scott Jenkins, Adam Little, Joe Murray and Richard Towers.

Our next show takes place in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on Saturday February 4 where Quigg defends his British title against Jamie Arthur. Among those fighting on the undercard are Munroe and Joe Murray.

On March 24 we return to Ponds Forge Arena, Sheffield when Buckland makes the first defence of his British crown.

Tickets for both shows are available by calling 01925 755 222, Ticketmaster 0844 847 2500, Ticketline 0844 888 9991 or online www.hattonboxing.com

Ricky and all the team at Hatton Promotions would like to thank all of our friends in the media for their continued support and wish you all a knockout 2012.

See you all ringside this year!
