Hasim Rahman wanted to steal the show at Madison Square Gardens. While it is too early to decide whether or not he has done so, you have to give him considerable credit for the beating he just gave New Zealand’s Kali Meehan. Meehan absorbed a frightful beating with Rahman landing over fifty percent |
of his punches before Meehan’s corner had seen more than enough and pulled their man out after four rounds of excessive punishment. Rahman will be ecstatic with the nature of this win and still has to decide which title he will chase as the WBA version and the WBO version are both supposedly available to him now. WBO champion Lamon Brewster struggled to defeat Meehan, so a tussle with Rahman might be quite undesirable for him at the moment. The WBA title is yet to be decided by John Ruiz and Andrew Golota so Rahman’s course is far from decided. Still, Rahman is back!
