For the first time in Russia, a promoter has achieved its rights of recognition under a contract with a boxer as JAB Promotions won court proceedings against Dmitriy Sukhotsky.
After almost 10 months, the court proceedings between JAB Promotion and boxer Dmitriy Sukhotsky are completed.
The legal decision was made in favor of the promoter: the agreement is adjudged to be valid and shall be carried out. The court decreed that Sukhotsky must meet the terms and conditions of the contract signed by him on 3rd of July 2009 and that he can participate in fights only by consent of JAB promotional company.
Such a judicial precedent opens a new phase of development of Russian professional boxing, based on the legal relationship between a boxer and a promoter, on the protection of the rights of both parties and on the efficient legal control in this area.
