WBA Mourns Loss Of Legendary Trainer Angelo Dundee

Angelo Dundee, the legendary boxing trainer, who made great boxing figures like Muhammad Ali and “Sugar” Ray Leonard, among others, passed away on February 01, at the age of 88, due to a heart failure.

The World Boxing Association deeply regrets the passing of the Hall of Famer Angelo Dundee. Dundee was inducted in 2004 as recognition for his long years of dedication training and helping boxers achieve their dream of becoming world champions.

“One of the greatest strategists of the boxing world passed away, he set unforgettable moments in memorable fights”, said Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, WBA vice-president.

He describes Dundee as a “very clever trainer and natural motivator.”

On behalf of the WBA, he stated “We lost an unforgettable and invaluable man”.

Rest in peace
