Kell Brook will return to the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield on July 7 after the huge success of his victory over Matthew Hatton at the venue last week.
Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants to build on Brook’s big night which saw 10,000 people packed into the Arena, and was also a huge ratings winner on Sky Sports.
Brook maintained his unbeaten record with a classy display against his Manchester rival, topping a stacked card featuring Carl Frampton’s successful Commonwealth super bantamweight title defence, Kerry Hope’s shock win over Greg Proksa for the European middleweight title and Lee Purdy’s win over Adnan Amar for the English welterweight title.
Hearn believes the 25 year old is the future of British boxing and is closing in a World title fight, and said that he will bring in a big name opponent for Kell’s summer date in the Steel City.
“It was a fantastic night in Sheffield for Kell and for British boxing, and I had no hesitation in putting him on in the Arena again,” said Hearn. “Kell delivered in a big way against Matthew and proved he is worth the hype. Now we will deliver another big night for him against a top name that we will announce soon.”
