Undercard Announced For March 31 “Rockin’ Fights 3”

ByBoxing Press 28/03/2012

Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing has announced an action packed undercard for “Rockin’ Fights 3”, a sensational professional boxing event set for this Saturday night, March 31stat The Paramount in Huntington, Long Island.

“Rockin’ Fights 3” is headlined by the return of the undefeated “Fighting Pride of Huntington”, Chris Algieri, 13-0-0 (6KO’s) returning for his third straight bout at The Paramount against Winston Mathis, 7-4-1 (2KO’s) of Rochester, New York in a junior welterweight battle.

In the chief support, The Hebrew Hammer Cletus Seldin, 6-0-0 (4KO’s), will look to stay perfect in a six round welterweight bout against 21 year old, crafty southpaw, Marcus Hall, 5-4-1 (2KO’s).

The 25 year old Seldin, a former body building champion, has stunned New York City area boxing fans with devastating stoppages in his last three starts, the last two taking place at The Paramount, most recently on January 28th.

Also featured in a six round welterweight bout, Emmanuel Lartey, 12-1-1 (7KO’s), looks to continue his recent momentum taking on San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Carlos Ramos, 4-4-0 (3KO’s).

A native of Ghana, Lartey was an amateur standout in that country and holds a professional win over former world title challenger Kaizer Mabuza, UD-12, in August 2007.

The upset minded Ramos comes off a very close six round decision loss to undefeated prospect Juan Rodriguez Jr. on January 21st in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Junior middleweight newcomers will see action as New Hyde Park, New York native Rich Neyes, 2-0-1 (1KO) clashes with Joey Yerdon, 2-3-2, of Albany, New York.

A native of Brazil, Neves will be making this third straight appearance at The Paramount, most recently taking a unanimous decision win over Anthony Birmingham on January 28th.

Heavyweights will see action as Haitian native Jacques Louis, 2-1-0, now fighting out of Brentwood, New York battles pro debuting Clyde Daniels of Central Islip, New York.

In the middleweight division, Glen Cove’s Raul Nuncio, 1-0-1 (1KO) hits the squared circle against Valadrin Muriqi, 2-1-0, of Bronx, New York.

Nuncio will be looking to get back in the win column after fighting to a draw in a four rounder against Anthony Jones on January 28th at The Paramount. In his pro debut on November 19th, also at The Paramount, Nuncio blasted out Elmer Vera in the first round.

A native of Albania, Muriqi looks to get back his momentum after not fighting in 2011.

Rounding out “Rockin’ Fights 3”, super middleweights will be featured in a four rounder as Danny Netzer, 1-0-0 of Tel Aviv, Israel clashes with Albany, New York’s Steven Tyner, 2-3-1 (2KO’s).

Netzer was successful in his pro debut; dropping the more experienced Eric Roy four times towards a third round stoppage on November 25th in New Brunswick, Canada.

Tyner, of Akron, Ohio, returns to The Paramount where he scored a first round stoppage of then undefeated Michael Ocasio on November 19th.

Advance tickets for “Rockin’ Fights 3”, priced at $40, $50, and $100, are available through Ticketmaster, (www.Ticketmaster.com, 800-745-3000).
