Hanks vs. Allen Heavyweight Clash October 27 In Albany

Advance tickets are now on sale as Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing will return to Upstate New York’s premier sports and entertainment facility, the Times Union Center on Saturday, October 27 with undefeated heavyweight contenders Joe “The Future” Hanks and Fred “Showtime” Allen battling in the ten round main event for the NABA Heavyweight Title.

“Having this heavyweight matchup at the Times Union Center is a one-two punch,” said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy. “Fans will get yet another chance this year to enjoy great boxing at Albany County’s premiere sports and entertainment venue. The evening is sure to be a knock out!”

Said DeGuardia, “This is our third event this year at the Times Union Center and we’re very excited to return to this terrific venue. The local fan and media support we’ve received for our first two shows compelled us to return with this sensational heavyweight battle which will be complimented by a terrific undercard that we will announce shortly.”

Triumphantly returning to the Times Union Center is world ranked contender Joe Hanks of Newark, New York. Sporting a record of 20-0-0 (14KO’s), the 29-year-old Hanks looked dominant in stopping Cuban contender Rafael Pedro in the second round on February 4 at the debut Star Boxing event in Albany. Hanks is currently ranked #14 by the World Boxing Organization.

Hanks followed up the knockout of Pedro by halting veteran Marcus Rhode in the first round on April 27 in Miami, Oklahoma.

Fighting out of Texas City, Texas, the 25-year-old Fred Allen has compiled a record of 14-0-1 with six knockouts in just three years as a professional. Fighting twice in 2012, he’s won all twelve rounds in the two bouts, leading to shutout unanimous decisions, most recently winning the USA Texas State Heavyweight Title on April 28, defeating Angel Herrera in Galveston Texas.
