Former heavyweight contender David ‘Tuaman’ Tua may be nearing the end of the legal matters that have kept him out of the ring for almost two years. Tua is hoping that the lengthy court battle with former members of his team will conclude soon and allow | ![]() |
him to resume his status as a leading heavyweight contender. Tua’s last fight was in March of 2003 when he fought to a disputed draw against Hasim Rahman. The New Zealand man confesses that he is no pure boxer, but his exciting slugging style would likely be very warmly welcomed back to the heayweight picture. James ‘Lights Out’ Toney, the former multi-weight world champion now campaigning as a heavyweight looks set to resume his mission to destroy all comers in the New Year also. Toney has recently been recovering from a severe bicep injury that forced him out of action earlier this year. Reports are that the healing process is almost complete and Toney will soon be able to resume training and is targeting February as his comeback month. Therefore, with the Samoan slugger Tua and the technician Toney aiming to get back into action, the heavyweight ranks may heat up quite nicely in 2005.
