Lou DiBella’s light middleweight hopeful Sechew Powell impressed the crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York by knocking out former world champion Santiago Samaniego early on in the third round last night. Powell, otherwise known as “The Iron Horse,” stole the show when he last appeared in a boxing ring by getting from a first round knockdown to stop opponent Cornelius Bundrage in the same round. With the win, hope remains high that Powell can become a ficture in the light middleweight division where many champions have come and gone over the last couple of years. Powell’s career mark now stands at seventeen wins, no defeats with eleven knockouts.
