Ndyambo Defeats Ndabayani In East London South Africa

Nomadhitini Ndyambo improved her record to 4-1 with a grueling victory over tough as teak Kholoso Ndabayani over ten harrowing rounds on Sunday, November 25, at the Mdantsane Indoor Centre in East London South Africa, and won the World Boxing Federation Women’s Intercontinental Light Welterweight title.

Referee Siya Vabaza had a good night, but missed a certain knockdown scored by Ndabayani which would have made a close fight that much closer. Ndyambo boxed brilliantly uses a sharp left jab to good effect, while the smaller Ndabayani remained dangerous with right hooks throughout the fight.

Judge Alan Matikane had it 96-95, while judge Lulama Mtya had it 98-92, and Siphiwe Mbini scored 98-94.

Koko Godlo, the head of KK promotions was delighted with the event and is going to allow Ndyambo to defend in February, while also giving Ndabayani a WBF intercontinental title shot at lightweight or even junior lightweight where she will be stronger. Ndabayani’s record dropped to 3-2.

Also at the event, WBF World junior welter champion Ali Funeka, scheduled to fight Zolani Marali in two weeks, was presented his plaque for fight of the year with Marali last year.
