World Boxing Association Super champion of the 154-pound division, Floyd Mayweather Jr is celebrating his birthday today, and on behalf of the WBA family we send him our warmest greetings and our best wishes of success.
Mayweather became super champion on May 5, 2012, when he defeated the Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto by unanimous decision, in Las Vegas. Since then, Mayweather has not been active; however, so far he is undefeated in 43 fights, 26 of them by knockout.
Mayweather who is also known as “Pretty Boy” and “Money”, was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1977, and began boxing at a very early age led by the hand of his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr.
He was part of the United States Olympic team, and was a Semifinalist in the 1996 Atlanta games. In total, during his amateur boxing career, Mayweather Jr won 84 victories with 6 losses. He jumped to professional, debuting in October 1986.
He has been the star in various controversies, both in and outside the ring, but undoubtedly he is an excellent athlete, loved by fans and everyday he shows he is an example of talents and ability to manage his business.
The boxing world must learn something from him, and it is that any Boxer can invest his money and be the owner of his future.
