Bristol’s first championship fight night in 15 years has been confirmed for April 27th 2013 at the City Academy, Russell Town Avenue in Bristol.
Bristol’s own Lee Haskins will do battle against Newcastle’s Martin Ward for the vacant British Bantamweight title. The Lockleaze born and bread fighter is hungry to get his hands back on a title after losing his European strap in a thrilling battle with former champion Stephane Jamoye.
His promoter Chris Sanigar had to do battle himself in order to secure home advantage for Lee with a closely contested purse bidding war against the Newcastle promoters.
The last time a British championship was held in the city was back in 1998 when Glenn Catley knocked out Neville Brown to claim the title and only once previous to that when Ross Hale defied the odds to snatch the title from the champion Andy Holligan.
It is hoped that the Bristol public will be out in full force to support their man as it promises to be another great sporting event in Bristol’s history.
Tickets are available at £100 & £80 VIP tables with complimentary Champagne/Wine, Buffett and Waitress Service, £60 Ringside and £35 for unreserved seating.
