In his last fight, August 26th, 2005, in White Plains, NY Curtis dismantled the 6’3” Shawn Williams, stopping him in the 4th round. NORTHEAST Director of Boxing Ron Katz likens Curtis to a Middleweight version of Smoking Joe Frazier. Said Katz “Curtis is an old school fighter. He has shown the dedication and character to become a successful professional and he has a crowd pleasing style which will make him a big fan favorite.”
Curtis had a very successful amateur career winning the Jr. Olympics 5 times while compiling an impressive 52-5 record. Curtis is managed by the very well known Stan Hoffman, who has guided numerous fighters to world championships, most notably Hasim Rachman.
