British and Commonwealth heavyweight Champion MATT SKELTON will defend his titles against KEITH LONG in front of a sell out crowd at Bethnal Green’s York Hall tomorrow night (Friday 19 November). The exciting powerhouse from Bedford has sold out the famous fight venue once again as hopeful fight fans clamour to get their hands on any spare tickets not wanting to miss the action and electric atmosphere. In fact Skelton is angry that he cannot defend his titles in front of a bigger audience and has demanded that his promoter Frank Warren put the eighteen stone man mountain at a bigger venue next time. “Keith Long will be on the receiving end of my anger and frustration because the majority of my fans are unable to get into the fight as the tickets are sold out,” stormed Skelton.
“Long thinks I’m a nice guy but when I get in that ring and he sees what is in front of him he will be like a rabbit caught in head-lights.” I may not be pretty to watch but the way I fight is exciting, brutal and effective and that is what the fans pay good money to see from a heavyweight fighter.” Skelton, with thirteen knockouts in fourteen fights, will start as favourite but Long has proved his toughness and resilience in the past and will not fold easily. A win will see Skelton head to Las Vegas next month to support Danny Williams’ WBC World heavyweight title challenge against Vitali Klitschko. A Williams victory could see Skelton challenge for the title in a sensational all-British showdown in London.
The only way to watch Skelton’s fight now is live on Sky Sports 1 at 10pm.
